Tucked into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Nances Creek Farms is a sixth-generation family farm growing organic crops and raising grain-fed, hormone-free meats. From spring strawberries to fall hay rides, we love opening the farm so our community can taste, learn, and play.
Nances Creek is a small, close-knit community in Calhoun County, Alabama, surrounded by rolling hills and farmland in the Appalachian foothills.
Our family has been farming this valley for six generations, passing down a love for the land, the creek that winds through it, and the people who call this part of Alabama home. Today, the farm blends traditional know-how with modern sustainable practices: organic-leaning growing methods, cover crops, soil stewardship and humane animal care.
Nances Creek Farms is known across Alabama for our U-pick strawberries, homegrown produce and family-friendly farm events. Each season brings something new to the fields and to the families who visit.
Whether you come to fill a bucket with strawberries, to stay overnight in our historic farmhouse, or to let the kids run through the hay maze in the fall, we hope you feel like part of the family while you’re here.
In late spring the fields fill with bright red berries and laughter. Bring the family, grab a bucket, and pick strawberries right off the plants. Our berries are grown using organic-minded practices and careful crop rotation.
We specialize in nutrient-rich vegetables, seasonal crops, and grain-fed, hormone-free beef and pork. It’s all raised right here on the farm with respect for the land and animals.
From school field trips and church groups to birthday parties and fall festivals, our hay rides, hay bale maze and play areas give kids a chance to experience real farm life.
One of the original family homes still stands on the property and has been lovingly renovated into a cozy farmhouse Airbnb, so you can wake up to birdsong and pasture views.
